Guidance on staying healthy and looking after your well-being

Healthy Eating

Eating a variety of foods helps us grow strong and stay full of energy. Fruits and vegetables are colourful, tasty, and super healthy! Try to eat a rainbow every day—like red apples, orange carrots, green broccoli, and purple grapes. Don’t forget to enjoy whole grains like rice and bread, as well as protein from foods like chicken, beans, or eggs. Healthy snacks like yoghurt, cheese sticks, or fruit slices are great to keep you going until your next meal. Eating well helps you run, jump, and play all day long!

Personal Hygiene

Keeping yourself clean helps you stay healthy and feel great. Washing your hands is super important—always do it before eating, after playing outside, and after using the bathroom. Scrub your hands with soap and water for as long as it takes to sing the “Happy Birthday” song twice. Brushing your teeth twice a day keeps your smile bright and strong. Remember to cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough to keep germs from spreading. And don’t forget—getting dressed all by yourself is a big step towards being a grown-up!

Physical Activity

Playing is the best way to stay active and have fun! Running, jumping, dancing, and climbing are all ways to get your body moving. You can play tag with friends, hop like a frog, or pretend to be your favourite animal. Don’t forget to spend time outside—fresh air and sunshine make outdoor play extra special. Even when indoors, you can stretch like a cat or try some easy yoga poses. Moving your body every day helps you stay healthy, happy, and full of energy.

Emotional Well-Being

We all have lots of feelings—like being happy, sad, angry, or excited. It’s okay to feel all these emotions, and it’s important to talk about them. When you feel upset, take a deep breath or talk to a grown-up. Making friends and being kind to others can make you feel good inside. Remember, it’s nice to share toys, say “please” and “thank you,” and help others when they need it. Being kind and understanding your feelings helps you make friends and feel happy every day.
